Dark MOFO petition passes 15,000

A petition seeking to ban a controversial Dark MOFO performance has passed 15,000 signatures.

Animal Liberation Tasmania is trying to prevent an 'art event' that features a freshly-slaughtered bull being torn apart by participants.

Hobart's Lord Mayor Sue Hickey has signed the petition, which will be sent to her if it reaches 25,000 signatures.

Hobart City Council and the state government are both sponsors of the festival.
