The Central Coast Council will have a new face at the table for its monthly meeting for June next Monday night.
A recount has been conducted by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission for a vacancy on council, created by the resignation of Councillor Casey Hiscutt.
The TEC has advised nine candidates from the 2022 Local Government Elections nominated for the recount, with Andrew Van Rooyen winning the ballot.
Councillor Hiscutt resigned from the council after winning the election for the Legislative seat of Montgomery as an independent last month, which was previously held by his mother and Liberal MLC Leonie Hiscutt.
Mr Hiscutt defeated a field of four other candidates, including former Liberal Senator Stephen Parry, who has since been endorsed as a Liberal candidate for Braddon in next month’s state election.
