Work has started to upgrade and modernise learning mspaces at Burnie’s Havenview Primary School as part of the State Government’s $10 million Contemporary Classrooms Programme.
General learning areas are being modernised and there are also improvements being made to outdoor learning areas as well as to lighting and fire safety systems.
Devonport-based construction company Meadcon is doing the work, which is expected to be finished in October.
Education Minister and Braddon MP Roger Jaensch says more than $800,000 is being spent on the Havenview upgrade – one of 12 schools around the state receiving funding under the programme.
