Coastal soccer sides have tasted success in three of the four Football Tasmania grand finals they were playing in over the weekend, with the women leading the way.
Devonport women overcame the Clarence Zebras in the Women’s Super League grand final two-nil at Valley Road in Devonport.
Unfortunately, the Strikers’ men weren’t able to replicate the victory in the National Premier League Tasmania men’s grand final, going down two-nil to arch-rival South Hobart.
Meanwhile at the Montello Soccer Ground in Burnie, the home side Burnie United claimed the silverware in the Northern Championship women’s grand final, beating Riverside Olympic two-nil.
In the men’s Northern Championship grand final, the Somerset Sharks also got the job done, beating Northern Rangers 2-1.
