Pubic submissions on the proposed $124 million Sassafras-Wesley Vale Irrigation scheme augmentation have opened.
The project will see the redevelopment of the existing Sassafras Wesley Vale scheme and will include the installation and operation of more than 102 km of pipes, some further upgrades, and the construction of a new major pump station.

The scheme is being jointly-funded by the State and Federal Governments on an equal-share basis.
Plans for the scheme will be on display at the Devonport City Council offices, the Latrobe Council offices, and the State Library of Tasmania at Latrobe until submissions close on June 23rd.
