Libraries Tasmania has extended opening hours at a number of regional libraries across the state, including here on the North-West Coast.
The changes won’t result in reductions of hours at any libraries.
Several libraries are also being opened on Saturdays for the first time, including the Smithton Library.
Education Minister Jo Palmer says the changes to regional library hours has been based on community feedback.
New hours, which came into effect yesterday include for the Burnie, Penguin, Smithton, Ulverstone and Wynyard Libraries.
More details on the updated library opening hours can be found on the Libraries Tasmania website.
