Off-shore wind farms could become a common sight in Bass Strait in future years with the Federal Government opening up consultation for a proposed wind zone.

Federal Energy Minister Chris Bowen says the zone has the potential to deliver 16 thousand Tasmanian jobs during the construction phase and several thousand on-going jobs.
