North West Coasters will have the chance to remember those lost to suicide and support families affected by suicide at the Lifeline Out of the Darkness Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walks in Burnie and Smithton on Friday.
Friday is World Suicide Prevention Day and the walk is aimed at bringing suicide out of the darkness and raising funds to provide crisis support and suicide prevention services to save lives.
The Smithton event will also start at 5.30 pm and will include guest speakers.
The Burnie event will start at Burnie Park at 5.30 pm with guest speakers and a with a sausage sizzle, with a walk to the Burnie Foreshore and return at 7pm.
Burnie Park also has a suicide memorial garden, at which a minute’s silence will be observed after the walk.
