Tasmanian Renewable Energy Minister Nick Duigan is unlikely to attend a public meeting on the proposed North-West Renewable Energy Zone in Burnie next month.

The 115,000 hectare zone (shown in yellow on the map above) is centred around Hampshire, South of Burnie, but also takes in parts of the Central Coast and Waratah-Wynyard Municipalities.

Braddon Independent MP Craig Garland will be one of the speakers at the meeting at the Burnie Arts and Function Centre on Saturday, September 1st, at 1pm.

Mr Garland has extended an invitation to Mr Duigan to attend, who has told Parliament there’s no point because his department is doing a great job of consulting with stakeholders and the community and he’s been going to many meetings over the zone.
