A smoke alert is in place for Latrobe, Railton and surrounding areas due to a fire at Dawsons siding road.
People traveling in the area should be careful if driving in smoke. Turn on your headlights, drive slowly and be aware of emergency services in the area.
While those at higher risk from the effects of smoke, including those with medical conditions, should enact their personal plan for avoiding smoke and managing their health.

And the Tasmanian Fire service is conducting a 22 hectare fuel reduction burn today at Old Deloraine Road in Latrobe.
It’s expected to take one to two days to complete with smoke potentially lingering over the week.
The burn is part of a statewide fuel reduction program to reduce bush fire risk.
