Thousands of steam lovers from all over the state and the mainland are expected to flock to Sheffield for Steamfest Tasmania over the long weekend.
The event, now in its 30th year, started from humble beginnings, and is now one of Australia’s biggest annual steam events.
Steam train ride are expected to be a popular choice for visitors, while demonstrations of steam tractions always create plenty of interest, as they reflect not only steam, but the rural industrialisation history of the North-West Coast.
