Boy, 15 charged over Sydney police chase

A 15-year-old boy who allegedly led police on a pursuit through southern Sydney in a stolen car has been charged as officers search for his passengers.

The chase began when officers saw a Honda Civic being driven in a dangerous manner on Princes Highway at Kogarah about 7.15pm Thursday.

It came to an end when the car slammed into another vehicle at Rockdale and two passengers fled.

The 15-year-old was charged with several offences including driving dangerously and driving recklessly.

His front-seat passenger, 14, was charged with being carried in conveyance, resisting an officer, assaulting police and destroying property.

They were both refused bail ahead of an appearance at Sutherland Local Court on Friday.

The incident followed a separate chase in Sydney's west about 1.15pm Thursday, which ended at St Marys when three men jumped out and ran.

They were arrested nearby and officers allegedly found a replica glock pistol, a machete and other weapons and a set of suspected stolen number plates in the car.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was charged with 12 offences including driving dangerously and negligent driving.

One of his passengers, 31, was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, while the other, 18, was charged with possessing a knife.

The older men will appear in Penrith Local Court on Friday, while their co-accused will appear in January.
