Charges after cop hurt in Sydney pub fight
Three people have been charged after a police officer was allegedly assaulted during a brawl at a hotel in Sydney's beachside suburb of Coogee.
Hotel staff called police after they became concerned about the behaviour of some patrons at the Coogee Bay Road hotel about 9pm on Saturday.
A male police officer who intervened in a fight between three people at the hotel suffered facial injuries and was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment to a broken nose, NSW Police said in a statement on Sunday.
A 30-year-old man and 20-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.
The man was charged with affray, assault police and possession of a prohibited drug.
The woman was charged with affray.
Another man, aged 21, was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment to a shoulder injury before being charged with affray.
All three were due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
