Yarandoo staffing levels under question
Somerset aged care facility Yarandoo is in the spotlight again after residents have spoken up about staff shortages affecting their quality of care.
Health and Community Services Union state secretary Tim Jacobson says issues around staffing at the facility have been ongoing for some time.
"Unfortunately Yarandoo has figured prominently in the Aged Care Royal Commission process
Yarandoo leval and standard of care have been sanctioned before on a couple of occasions," Mr Jacobson said.
"Now we've seen unprecedented steps by residents raising concerns, not only about themselves, but on the standard lf care at the facility." he said.
Yarandoo is operated by Southern Cross Aged Care, which also provides home and community care services at Somerset and Devonport.
