Bookies put Lynch ahead in Braddon poll
Endorsed Braddon Labor Candidate Chris Lynch (pictured) has firmed as favourite to oust sitting Liberal Member Gavin Pearce in this month's Federal Election, according to national on-line betting agency, Sportsbet.
Mr Lynch is paying $1.65 for the win, while Mr Pearce is only considered a $2.10 chance to keep his seat.
In Lyons, sitting Labor Member Brian Mitchell is a short-priced favourite to retain his seat, despite the revelation last week of inappropriate social media comments, for which he has since apologised.
Mr Mitchell is listed at $1.40 to keep his seat, while endorsed Liberal Candidate Susie Bower is showing generous odds of $2.75 to win.
Sportsbet doesn't consider any independents or minor party representative a chance, showing Braddon Independent Craig Garland third-favourite at $21, while the Greens' Liz Johnstone is a $51 chance and third-favourite in Lyons.
