Weather looking good for Easter

weather

Tasmania's looking forward to reasonable weather statewide over the Easter break, with tops in the high teens and early 20s, apart from some showers and a cold front due on Sunday evening.

Meteorologist, Rachel McInerney, from the Bureau of Meteorology Tasmania says it'll kick off with a fine Good Friday.

"For the north we're expected fine conditions until we see those light showers develop Saturday, they'll be mainly around the higher ground."

She says the state's South, Northwest, West and East coast are looking fine apart from some showers and there's some rain for the north.

"Saturday we'll see an east-northeasterly develop as a high moves east over the Tasman Sea. We will see some light showers developing about the north, mainly about higher ground for Saturday. Then Sunday will bring the main weather feature for the Easter weekend, which is a cold front with showers expected about the north of Sunday, those showers will extend statewide in the evening."

"Into Monday, the cold front will clear the state early away to the east."

Statewide showers will contract back to the West and far-South on Monday morning.
