Squatter arsonist jailed
A 23 year old man who's been homeless and unemployed all of his adult life has been sent to jail for two years for torching a Hobart house worth $750,000 in March.
Barry John Eldridge had been squatting in the Goulburn Street home with others who banished him from the place because of his drinking.
He set the fire because he thought the others were withholding his wallet.
Eldridge will be eligible to apply for parole after serving a year.
