Michael Keaton Shares Touching Tribute to Beetlejuice Co-star Catherine O’Hara

Over the weekend the world was hit with the terribly tragic news that comedy icon, Catherine O’Hara, had suddenly died at the age of 71. It has been revealed that the actress had a brief battle with illness.

One of her longtime co-stars, colleagues, and friends, Michael Keaton took a moment to pay tribute to one of his closest friends. O’Hara and Keaton first shared the screen together in 1988’s Beetlejuice film which would later receive a 2024 sequel. This however wasn’t the only films they would share together as they also worked together on The Paper (1994) and Game 6 (2005). The above post was written briefly after her death was announced over the weekend and it would appear to have struck Keaton harder than he may have anticipated. He just this morning went on to make another post praising his now departed friend.

Catherine O’Hara was born in Toronto, Canada on the 4th of March in 1954 and began her career in as a cast member of The Second City, an improv theatre troupe in Toronto in 1974. She would go on to have an immensely successful career in comedy, but perhaps best known for her iconic roles in Home Alone, Beetlejuice, and Schitts Creek as Moira Rose.
