In regional Victoria, locals have woken up to a rude surprise: empty tanks and tampered fuel caps. CCTV shows thieves going full retro, prying open caps and helping themselves. No fancy tech, no elaborate schemes, just a hose, a container, and apparently, the audacity.

It’s Not Over Yet

Petrol prices are doing absolutely no one any favours. With costs climbing higher and higher, it seems some people have decided that paying is optional. While there’s no official shortage, wallets across the country would politely disagree. And if siphoning feels a bit too DIY, police reckon “drive-offs” could spike too, because nothing says 2026 like filling up and simply… leaving.
