Devonport Country Club – Sport Shop Retail Manager

Devonport Country Club, established on the 1st January 2019 following the merger of The
Devonport Golf Club, Devonport Bowls and Croquet Club and Spreyton Bowls Club is located at
“Woodrising” in the City of Devonport, Northwest Tasmania. Overlooking the Mersey Peninsula
this new club, boasts an 18 Championship golf course, three bowling greens, two croquet lawns
and a state-of-the-art indoor bowling centre. With the vision of being the “club of the future” and
in excess of a thousand members, require the services of a motivated, self-driven individual to
take up the position of Retail Manager of the clubs modern, attractive retail shop catering for
Golf, Bowls and Croquet.

Leading a team of retail assistants and reporting to the General Manager, the Retail Manager will
be responsible for promoting the brand of the Devonport Country Club, while managing
operations and working within a set budget. Other duties will include administrative functions
for Bowls, Croquet and Golf.

Skills required, but not limited to:
 Knowledge of Merchandising, stock and budget control as well as pricing policies.
 Computer literate with knowledge in Office 365, Xero and POS systems.
 Ability to lead and motivate a team of retail assistants.
 Ability to communicate with customers
 Good understanding of and experience in health and safety legislation and systems.
 Good reporting and communication skills.
 Knowledge of Golf, bowls or croquet would be an advantage.
 Must be well presented.
